ABOUT AYSO REGION 153

Welcome to AYSO Region 153!

AYSO Region 153 was established in East Tucson in 1977. We've been providing a quality soccer program to Tucson's kids for 40 years. We are one of many regions, part of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) - The Worlds Biggest Soccer Club™

How are we different? We believe that in order for a player to be a soccer player - they must play soccer. Our National Philosophies support this goal.

Region 153 services East Tucson with the boundaries of:
    West - Craycroft Road
    East - Rincon Mountains
    South - 22nd Street
    North - Catalina Mountains.

Any player from outside our boundaries may play in our Region with AYSO's Open Registration Philosophy.  We are part of Section 12A (1 of 7 areas in Tucson).

10U and Older Travel Potential
As the number of children registering for soccer programs across the country are decreasing, all soccer leagues have had to come up with ideas to make the game more competitive and fun for the children involved in the 10U and up age groups. Our area came together and decided that since the number of teams drops off drastically at the 10U age group, we would start inter-regional play at this level rather having the same teams in each region play each other week after week which can become very boring for everyone involved. Our goal is to keep players excited about the game and want to continue playing for years to come. What this means is teams starting at this age group will start traveling to other regions to play about half of their games with the rest played within our region. This MAY even include a trip to Nogales as they will travel to Tucson for half of their games as well. These teams will then compete in a tournament at the end of the year. We as an area found that this was the best way to keep players and families interested in the game as well as the games competitive as the teams aren't playing the same teams every week.  If our region registers enough 10U players, travel requirements may be removed.
